Xiaomi Mi Play Details
The Xiaomi Mi Play is the first smartphone from the brand to feature a waterdrop notch. It is also the first smartphone from Xiaomi to feature a gradient color on the back panel. Don t get confused with the Play branding of the device, as it not a gaming smartphone.
Display
The Xiaomi Mi Play features a 5.84-inch display with IPS LCD technology and Full HD+ resolution. As I mentioned earlier, the Mi Play is the first smartphone from the brand to feature a waterdrop notch. The nearly bezel-less design and the waterdrop notch give the device a screen to body ratio of 80.1%.
Camera
There is nothing surprising in the camera section. The device has a 12MP + 2MP dual-camera setup on the back, and an 8MP camera on the front. The rear camera, as you might expect features phase-detection autofocus. Although the Xiaomi Mi Play is a mid-range smartphone, it does not feature a 4K video recording. There is, however, portrait mode available in the rear camera, courtesy of the 2MP depth-sensor.
Hardware
The Xiaomi Mi Play is among the very few devices from the brand to feature a MediaTek chipset. The smartphone comes with the Helio P35 SoC, which has octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU and PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The smartphone comes in three variants; 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 64Gb storage, and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. The smartphone comes with the Android 9 Pie OS, which has MIUI skin on top. The Xiaomi Mi Play has a 3000mAh battery. For connectivity, there is 4G LTE with VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth, microUSB port, and 3.5mm audio jack.
