The TP-Link VIGI C320I (6mm) is a professional outdoor IR bullet network camera built for dependable, long-range surveillance in business and commercial environments. At the core of the camera is a 1/3" progressive scan CMOS sensor delivering 2MP (1920 × 1080) maximum resolution. The camera supports flexible frame-rate selection up to 30 fps, enabling smooth motion capture in entrances, driveways, perimeters, and outdoor walkways.

This specific variant is fitted with a 6mm fixed lens (F2.0) designed for distance-focused coverage. Compared to wide-angle lenses, a 6mm lens provides a tighter field of view, helping you capture more detail on subjects farther away. This makes it suitable for monitoring boundaries, access roads, parking rows, loading areas, corridors between buildings, and other situations where “reach” matters more than wide coverage. For planning and expectations, the datasheet includes DORI guidance for the 6mm lens: Detect up to 91m, Observe 38m, Recognize 18m, and Identify 9m (distances are guidance values and depend on scene conditions and installation).

For night surveillance, the VIGI C320I uses infrared illumination with two IR LEDs, providing IR visibility up to 50 meters at 850nm. The camera uses an IR cut filter for day/night switching, and Smart IR helps prevent close objects from blowing out white while still maintaining usable visibility on subjects farther away. This is essential in real outdoor scenes where reflective surfaces, nearby walls, or passing vehicles can cause overexposure.

Image clarity is further supported by VIGI’s image enhancement features such as DWDR (Wide Dynamic Range) to help balance scenes with mixed lighting, plus 3D DNR to reduce noise and improve low-light detail. Additional adjustable settings include brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, exposure, white balance, rotation (90°/270°), highlight handling, and infrared overexposure prevention—useful for dialing in the image depending on where the camera is installed.

For smarter monitoring, the camera supports Human & Vehicle Classification, helping reduce false alerts triggered by non-relevant motion. It also supports a wide set of smart events such as intrusion detection, line-crossing detection, region entering/exiting detection, object abandoned/removal detection, abnormal sound detection, plus people and vehicle detection events. For baseline security operation, it also supports motion detection, video tampering detection, and login exception alerts with message push notifications.

For recording efficiency, the camera supports modern video compression formats including H.265+ / H.265 / H.264+ / H.264 on the main stream, and H.265 / H.264 on the sub-stream. H.265+ is particularly valuable for businesses that record continuously, as it reduces storage consumption and bandwidth usage compared to older formats. Bit-rate control supports CBR and VBR, enabling you to optimize for consistent bandwidth or better quality per scene. The camera provides a main-stream bit-rate range up to 4 Mbps, and a lower sub-stream for bandwidth-efficient remote viewing.

Audio monitoring is supported via a built-in microphone, designed to record activity within approximately a 15-ft radius. Audio uses G.711 (alaw) at 8 kHz sampling with noise filtering, supporting clearer monitoring for entrances, reception areas, or camera locations where audio context is useful (note: this model does not provide built-in two-way talk from a speaker).

For connectivity and integration, the camera supports ONVIF (Profile S) and can be managed through VIGI App, VIGI Security Manager, VIGI NVR, or web access. It supports common surveillance networking protocols (RTSP, HTTPS, DHCP, DNS, NTP, etc.). One important technical note: VIGI C320I does not support IPv6 (IPv4 supported). It also supports multiple simultaneous live views (main and sub-stream combinations) depending on the client setup.

On the installation side, the camera supports flexible mounting (ceiling, wall, or pole) and manual angle adjustment with 360° pan, 90° tilt, and 360° rotation to achieve the correct aim. It is rated IP67 weatherproof, making it suitable for outdoor deployments exposed to dust and water.
