The NCTS NU7215 is a line-interactive UPS designed for desktop workstations, networking gear, and small IT peripherals that need reliable ride-through during brownouts and short outages. With a 1500VA / 900W rating and a 24V battery bus built from two 12V 7Ah sealed lead-acid batteries, it balances adequate runtime at typical office loads with compact size and straightforward maintenance.

Electrical design & regulation
As a line-interactive topology, the NU7215 uses Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to correct moderate under- and over-voltage events without switching to battery. This reduces unnecessary discharge cycles and helps preserve battery life. When the input moves outside the AVR window or fails entirely, the UPS transfers to battery with a typical 2–6 ms transfer time—fast enough for PCs, SOHO network devices, and similar electronics designed with standard input hold-up. The output in battery mode is a simulated (stepped) sinewave, which is compatible with most switch-mode power supplies used in computers, monitors, routers/switches, small DVR/NVR boxes, and NAS units.

Input flexibility
The unit supports both 110/120V and 220/230/240V mains regions with auto-sensing 50/60 Hz frequency. A wide input voltage range of 86–145V or 140–300V allows AVR to compensate for common brownouts and surges before a battery transfer is needed. This is useful in environments with fluctuating utility power where continuity is a priority but full online double-conversion is not required.

Battery system & maintenance
The UPS ships with 2 × 12V 7Ah sealed lead-acid batteries connected in series (24V DC system). These are common, field-replaceable VRLA blocks. Recharge time to ~90% is typically 4–6 hours after a full discharge. Float (standby) voltage is specified around 27.4 VDC for the 24V pack. As with any VRLA system, storage and operation within the recommended 0–40 °C temperature range and non-condensing humidity improve service life. Regular functional checks (self-tests and an occasional controlled load test) are recommended standard practice.

Load guidance (practical)
At 900W max output, the NU7215 can support common office loads such as:

  • 1 desktop PC + 24–27″ monitor + router/modem/switch

  • Small PoE switch and access point stack (check total draw)

  • Compact NAS (2–4 bays) and surveillance NVRs with modest camera counts

Actual runtime is load-dependent and not claimed here to avoid over-promising; users should size by wattage and, if needed, add external runtime calculators or measured tests for critical cases.

Protections & indicators
Protection includes overload, overcharge, over-discharge, and short-circuit safeguards. The front panel provides LCD indicators showing input/output voltage and frequency, battery level, and load level, with fault annunciation. Audible alarms provide state changes (on battery, low battery) consistent with SOHO UPS norms.

Form factor & handling
The chassis remains compact for its class, with approx. 380 × 123 × 193 mm physical size and ~9.35 kg net weight. This allows easy placement near a workstation or network corner without dedicated rack space. The enclosure is a durable ABS/PC blend suitable for office environments.

Where it fits
Choose the NU7215 when you need:

  • Affordable brownout correction (AVR) and short-outage bridging

  • Compatibility with PCs, networking, and small digital electronics using SMPS inputs

  • Dual-battery (24V) design for better ride-through than 12V single-battery units of lower VA class

Consider an online/double-conversion UPS if your loads are highly sensitive to waveform quality (e.g., specific medical/industrial instrumentation) or if you require near-zero transfer time.

What this model doesn’t claim
No claims are made for true sinewave output on battery, extended external battery packs, or enterprise network management add-ons. Socket count and outlet types can vary by sales region; confirm your specific SKU if outlet configuration is a purchasing criterion.
