Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut – Nintendo Switch 2
Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is the definitive edition of the acclaimed prequel to the Yakuza series, optimized for the Nintendo Switch 2. Set in the vibrant and gritty urban landscapes of 1980s Tokyo and Osaka, the game follows the intertwined stories of Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima as they navigate the dangerous criminal underworld during Japan’s economic boom.
This Director’s Cut version enhances the original game with 26 minutes of additional cutscenes that deepen character backstories and reveal key events. Players can experience intense hand-to-hand combat by switching between three distinct fighting styles for each protagonist, taking on rival gangs and powerful enemies. The game also introduces the new “Red Light Raid” online multiplayer mode, allowing players to team up with friends and battle waves of foes using a roster of 60 playable characters.
Technically, the game runs smoothly at a locked 60 frames per second with 4K resolution support in TV mode on the Nintendo Switch 2. It includes English and Chinese voiceovers along with subtitles in multiple languages, making it accessible to a wide audience. Additionally, the licensed Japanese music tracks are now available internationally, adding to the authentic atmosphere.
Praised for its compelling story, dynamic combat, and rich world-building, Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut offers both longtime fans and newcomers an engaging and polished experience on the Nintendo Switch 2.
